Organization
Usage and Application: Organization helps students to find connections within a body of new information (Ormrod, 2012).
Outlines:
· Advantage: Outlines are helpful examples of the concept of organization and help students connect major topics and ideas.
· Disadvantage: Interestingly enough, more academically successful students are less likely to use outlines than their average-ability counterparts, possibly due to their greater ability to organize information within their brains.

Concept Mapping:
·Advantage: Often more effective than outlining, concept maps represent new information in a
graphic or visual way, such as maps, flowcharts, or matrices. Students can better organize material by focusing on how concepts relate to one another; this also visually and verbally facilitates long-term memory.
·Disadvantage: Students must be careful to represent correct information in self-constructed concept maps. Luckily, teacher-review can be effective in finding gaps in knowledge and helping students to correct mistakes.
